ABOUT JOAN

Lifescribing Mentor. Author. Mother.

Before shifting to digital media, Joan Gallares established a career in print publishing, starting off as a lifestyle reporter for a business newspaper then eventually moving on to become Executive Editor of a travel magazine and a contributor to international travel guidebooks and magazines such as Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure. She shifted to digital in 1998 when she became editor of an online magazine. Two years later, she joined the new media startup of a leading broadcast network where she spent 20 years putting up and managing the creative team as Senior Vice President for Creative and Content Development. In 2020, she embarked on a major life and career shift to become a free agent and a homeschooling mom. She considers writing her spiritual practice together with meditation and chanting. In 2021, she developed a coursework called Lifescribing that guides people into writing their life stories as legacy so that they can harvest the wisdom of their personal history and embody a larger possibility.
